In an unprecedented collective action, voters across the country used ReverseRobocall.com’s innovative advocacy platform let congress know what they think about SOPA. They don’t want it.
While many of the internet’s top websites went black on Wednesday voters across the country used ReverseRobocall.com to unleash almost 20,000 citizen robocalls on congress to raise their voices about SOPA (you can listen to them here).
In an unprecedented coordination of activism by millions of citizens and internet companies, the “internets” clearly and unequivocally let Congressional SOPA supporters know what they think about the bill. Thousands of voters were able to take advantage of the unique voter robocall technology offered by ReverseRobocall.com to contact congress. By the end of the day 18 Senators had abandoned their support for the Senate version of SOPA, PIPA.
For the first time, voters were able to use the same sophisticated robocall technology that Presidential candidates utilize to contact their supporters. “We’ve spent considerable resources and developed leading technology in order to give voters access to the same technology leading edge candidates have.” said Shaun Dakin, CEO and Co-Founder of ReverseRobocall.com. “With one click voters can record a robocall message and send that message to one or thousands of politicians while posting their message to the internet for the world to hear. This has never been done before.”
In addition, ReverseRobocall.com is donating a percentage of it’s revenues received for SOPA related robocalls to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), one of the internets leading civil liberties organizations. ReverseRobocall.com is proud to support the efforts of the amazing staff at EFF.
"What better way to exercise your First Amendment rights to free speech than by speaking out?" asks Co-Founder Aaron Titus, who in January 2011 made national headlines after robocalling school board members to protest a 4:30am robocall, "Reverserobocall.com literally give citizens back their voice in the political process."
About ReverseRobocall.com
Founded by privacy advocates, Shaun Dakin and Aaron Titus, ReverseRobocall.com seeks to tip the balance of power from politicians and corporations back to the people.
ReverseRobocall.com is the first company in the country to unleash the power of robocalls on behalf of the voter and the citizen. For years politicians and commercial telemarketers have used robocalls to contact voters. Today, that same power is in the hands of the American voter.
ReverseRobocall.com easy to use and is as simple as recording your personal voice mail at home. With one click a voter can record a message and deliver that message to one or thousands of politicians.
